Alyssa Durigon – Registered Psychotherapist

Alyssa Durigon is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) #16053 and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She earned her Master’s Degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier and is pursuing a PhD program in Expressive Art Therapy. Alyssa practices individual therapy, couples therapy, friendship therapy and expressive art therapy. She has experience working with neurodivergence (ADHD & ASD), anxiety, spirituality, life transitions, identity struggles, relationship issues, chronic pain and queer folks. Alyssa deeply considers your unique experiences in order to support you, reduce harm, improve confidence, and find more calm.  Alyssa practices from a somatic perspective and is always interested in the mind-body connection. Alyssa supports clients in finding and understanding their identity and their goals while facilitating action towards self-compassion, gratitude and love. Alyssa also has experience with chronic pain and supports individuals navigating challenges related to their condition. She understands the logistical, mental, and emotional difficulties that can accompany chronic pain and disability. Alyssa helps individuals regain a sense of strength and identity after diagnoses and establish confidence in vocalizing their needs. As a member of the queer community, Alyssa is interested in working with individuals who are seeking support from a fellow community member. Alyssa has studied queer theory and is equipped to navigate complex topics relating to one’s identity. Alyssa is an advocate for queer inclusion, representation, and diversity. She aims to support individuals through affirmation therapy and intersectional feminist approaches. Alyssa is passionate about supporting individuals on their journey of self-compassion and facilitates strength and confidence in claiming one’s identity. This includes her prominent work in alternative couples counselling for queer, trans, poly, and ethically non-monogamous folks. In her personal life, Alyssa enjoys engaging with creative projects and exploring artistic mediums. She regularly attends yoga and meditation sessions as well as teaches classes in the community. Alyssa is passionate about cooking, spending time in nature and connecting with friends and family.
